Using small amounts of fluoride on a routine basis can help prevent tooth decay.

Helps prevent daily mineral loss caused by plaque acids from foods and beverages

Recommended by the AAPD to be applied at dental visits twice a year

Do not give your child nursery water due to it having an uncontrolled amount of fluoride

Use distilled water or plain bottled water instead of nursery water

Fluoride vitamins are recommended by the AAPD for certain children from 6 months to 2 years of age
Systemic Fluoride

From ages 2 to 4 use only a pea sized amount of children's fluoridated toothpaste

Children's fluoridated toothpaste is made with less fluoride knowing the child will swallow it until age 4
