She served in the US Army for 8 years including Desert Storm demonstrating her commitment to serving her country and protecting its citizens. Her involvement in various charitable organizations underscores her dedication to giving back to her community. She served on the board for the Healing House for Grieving Children for 5 years. Her passion for animal welfare is evident through her avid support of Lafayette Animal Aid. Her philanthropic endeavors span a wide range of causes, including supporting organizations such as The Autism Society, Gifting Grace Project, The Faith House, The Extra Mile for foster children, CYT (Christian Youth Theater), Hope for Opelousas, SOLA (South Louisiana Community Foundation), St. Jude's Children’s Research Hospital, and The Hub of Lafayette. Dr. Jacobs is also the author of two children's books, "The Adventure of the Tall Giraffe and the Short Duck" and "Fifi the Freckled Faced Fish.” These books teach young readers about self-acceptance. All of the proceeds from the sale of these books are donated to local children’s charities.
Dr. Leslie Jacobs leads a fulfilling life outside of her professional and philanthropic endeavors. With her two daughters, Callie and Chloe, she shares cherished moments filled with love and laughter. Their family is further enriched by their 3 rescued furry companions: a playful puppy named Pixie and two affectionate cats named Cleo and Drumstick. In her leisure time, she enjoys reading, active workouts, traveling and spending quality time with her loved ones.
